Alice SellwoodAnnouncing New Office Manager: Alice Sellwood

The Toronto Blues Society is delighted to welcome Alice Sellwoodas the new Office Manager! Starting October 1, Alice’s office hours will be Tuesday-Friday Noon-5pm and she would love to hear from you. Alice has recently been working in the Promotions Department at Lula Lounge, and was previously a research assistant at York University in the Ethnomusicology Department. Jordan Safer will remain involved with the Toronto Blues Society as Event Coordinator.

Michael Pickett at The Gladstone Hotel Next Thursday

The Toronto Blues Society presents the best in blues talent the first Thursday of each month at the Melody Bar in The Gladstone Hotel. Performances are free to the public, begin at 9pm, and the Gladstone has an excellent menu if you arrive for the show early! Multi-Juno Award nominee and international touring bluesman Michael Pickett (pictured) performs on Thursday October 3.

Mark your calendars for upcoming TBS Gladstone series shows including Jimmy Bowskill solo (Nov 7) and Jake Chisholm (Dec 5).

27th Annual Women’s Blues Revue: Announcing Roxanne Potvin!

New vocalist announcement: Roxanne Potvin (pictured)!

In addition to Roxanne, the featured vocalists for the 27th annualToronto Blues Society Women’s Blues Revue at Massey Hallon Saturday November 30 are Rachelle van Zanten, Layla Zoe, Kim Richardson, Betty Richardson, and more to be announced in the coming weeks!

These featured vocalists will be backed by Morgan Doctor (drums), and Christine Bougie (guitar), who join new bandleader Rebecca Hennessy (trumpet), Brandi Disterheft (bass), Suzie Vinnick(guitar), Lily Sazz (keys), Colleen Allen (sax), and Carrie Chesnutt (sax).

TBS Mississippi Trip in April!


The Toronto Blues Society is planning a blues trip to Mississippi in April 2014! Do you want to go?
