Blues in the Garden

The Blues in the Garden event returns this year as part of the Queen West Art Crawl in the TBS garden (910 Queen St W, corner of Queen/Crawford) on Sunday September 16, 1pm-4pm. Come out to this free event which features a performance by Al Lerman (pictured) as well as bbq and beverages.

Blues on the Rideau

The 8th season of the Blues on the Rideau series at The Cove Inn in Westport, ON boasts a terrific line-up with proceeds going to local charities. Each show is paired with a buffet dinner and dancing, and runs 7pm-11pm. Put these intimate shows in your calendar: Oct 26 – Terry Gillespie (pictured), Nov 16/17 – Fathead, Jan 18 – Conor Gains Band, Feb 15/16 – The Hogtown Allstars, March 15/16 – Jack de Keyzer, April 19/20 – David Rotundo Band w/Julian Fauth, May 17 – Robin Bank$ Band

TBS Gladstone Series

The Toronto Blues Society presents the best in blues talent the first Thursday of each month at the Melody Bar in The Gladstone Hotel. Performances are free to the public and begin at 9pm. Party-blues bandcatl (pictured)will perform their energetic show on October 4!

Braithwaite & Whiteley: Blues Suite

Diana Braithwaite & Chris Whiteley were commissioned by the Toronto Blues Society to create a work of music titled “Blues Suite” with support from Canada Council. OnFriday October 19, the Blues Suite will be performed live for the first time at Glenn Gould Studio. Tickets are available through the Massey Hall box office. If you are a Charter Member, call the TBS office to get the discount code for 20% off the ticket price! Public tickets can be purchased by clicking here.

Women’s Blues Revue

The 26th Annual Toronto Blues Society Women’s Blues Revuefeatures Saidah Baba Talibah (pictured), Tanika Charles, Kellylee Evans, Angel Forrest, Sabrina Weeks, and Sacha Williamson! The event will take place at Massey Hall on Saturday November 24. The vocalists will be backed up by the all-female Women’s Blues Revue Band featuring Donna Grantis (Musical Director, Guitar), Suzie Vinnick (Guitar), Lily Sazz (Keys), Brandi Disterheft (Upright Bass), Lindsay Beaver (Drums), Colleen Allen (Sax), Carrie Chesnutt (Sax), and Rebecca Hennessy (Trumpet).

Maple Blues Awards

The Maple Blues Awards returns to beautiful Koerner Hall to honour the best in Canadian blues. Hosted by Raoul Bhaneja (pictured), the awards show will take place on Monday January 21, 7pm. This is the blues gathering of the year featuring live musical performances and blues dignitaries from around the world. Check back for updates on performers and other info!
