Gladstone Series: Michael Jerome Browne CD Release

The Toronto Blues Society presents the best in blues talent the first Thursday of each month at The Melody Bar in The Gladstone Hotel. There is no cover charge and tasty food service is offered in the recently renovated Melody Bar http://www.gladstonehotel.com/food/melody-bar. Don’t miss Borealis recording artist Michael Jerome Browne’s (pictured) CD release on Thursday November 3!. Sleepwalk Guitar Festival

The inaugural Sleepwalk Guitar Festival takes place at The Great Hall (1087 Queen St W) on Nov 4-6. In association with Six Shooter Records, and curated by Luke Doucet, the festival has some great blues content including: Colin James (pictured), Duke Robillard, Amos Garrett, and Jay Nowicki amongst other top guitarists! 25th Annual Women’s Blues Revue

The 25th annual Toronto Blues Society Women’s Blues Revue will take place at the historic Massey Hall on Saturday November 26. Hosted once again by CBC host Shelagh Rogers (pictured), the featured artists are: Kat Danser, Ada Lee, Emma-Lee, Treasa Levasseur, Shakura S’Aida, and Suzie Vinnick!

The band will feature band leader Donna Grantis (guitar), Lily Sazz (keyboards), Brandi Disterheft (bass), Lindsay Beaver (drums), Colleen Allen (sax), Carrie Chesnutt (sax) and Rebecca Hennessy (trumpet).

This year’s Toronto Blues Society Christmas Party will take place at The Delta Chelsea Hotel Monarchs Pub on Saturday December 10, and will feature a performance by Maple Blues Award winner Robin Banks (pictured)! Watch this space for more details as the date draws closer.

Maple Blues Awards

The 15th annual Toronto Blues Society Maple Blues Awards will be hosted by Treasa Levasseur and Shakura S’Aida at Koerner Hall on Monday, January 16, 2012. The gala event celebrates Canadian blues featuring the finest musicians and special guests from across Canada, all backed by the Maple Blues Band (pictured).

Fraser Finlayson Tribute

Fans, friends, family, and musicians will celebrate the life of Fraser Finlayson (pictured) at Hugh’s Room on Tues Nov 15. The event is in support of the Finlayson Library at the Vancouver National Centre, and will feature performances by FATHEAD, Morgan Davis, Carlos del Junco, Ray Harrison, and The Mr. Hot Pants Band. Doors at 6pm; Show at 8:30pm.
