Women’s Blues Revue 

The 24th annual Women’s Blues Revue takes place Saturday November 27 at Massey Hall. Member discount details are available by contacting the office. The singers this year are Kellylee Evans, Alana Bridgewater, Little Miss Higgins, Robin Banks, Rita Chiarelli and Alejandra Ribera (pictured)! This year, the band will be led by musical director Donna Grantis (guitar), and features Brandi Disterheft (bass), Lindsay Beaver (drums), Lily Sazz (keys), Colleen Allen (sax), Carrie Chesnutt (sax) and Rebecca Hennessy (trumpet). Gladstone Hotel Melody Bar Blues / Free Admission 

The Toronto Blues Society will be presenting the best in local blues talent the first Thursday of each month at The Melody Bar in The Gladstone Hotel. There will be no cover charge and each performance will begin at 8pm. The Maple Blues Awards will take place on Monday January 17th, 2011 at Koerner Hall. The award show recognizes the best national blues musicians who have made an impact over the last year. Call for Artist Submissions to Showcase at Blues Summit Five

To submit an application to showcase The Blues Summit Five happening at the Delta Chelsea Hotel Jan 15-17, please go to www.sonicbids.com/bluessummitfive or send a CD with a one page bio sheet, photo and $10 handling fee. Performances take place at the Market Garden Cafe and Monarchs Lounge on January 15 and 16 and will be attended by festival artistic directors and delegates from across the Canada and around the blues world.

Just announced!  Direct from Washington DC, XM Radio broadcaster Bill Wax will be the Blues Summit Five keynote speaker, proprietor of Low-Fi’s Bar and Pool Hall in the heart of B.B. King’s Bluesville.
