Gladstone Hotel Melody Bar Blues / Free Admission

The Toronto Blues Society will be presenting the best in local blues talent the first Thursday of each month at The Melody Bar in The Gladstone Hotel. There will be no cover charge and each performance will begin at 8:30pm. Upcoming performances include The 24th Street Wailers CD release (Feb 3, pictured), Paul James solo (March 3), and Steve Dawson (April 7)! http://www.gladstonehotel.com/ 

Women’s Blues Revue Broadcast on CBC Canada Live

Did you miss the 24th annual Women’s Blues Revue at Massey Hall this past November? Want to relive the experience? Tune in to CBC Radio 2 (94.1 FM) on Feb 17 at 7pm, or CBC Radio 1 (99.1 FM) on Feb 18 at 2pm to hear the performances from that night in full.

Canadian Music Week Blues Showcase

Presented by DAWG FM and The Toronto Blues Society, this year’s Canadian Music Festival Blues Showcase will take place at The Silver Dollar Room on Sat March 12. The line-up is Johnny Max, Treasa Levasseur (pictured), The 24th Street Wailers, and Bill Durst. Doors at 5:30pm; advance tickets available at www.canadianmusicfest.com

February Blues in Barrie

The Barrie Jazz & Blues Festival presents their 14th annual February Blues Festival Feb 3-6. The festival takes place in Barrie-Innisfield and includes a screening of Rita Chiarelli’s Music from the Big House  and performances by Michael Pickett (pictured), Jack de Keyzer, Jerome Godboo, Paul James, Wayne Buttery, Roly Platt and more. Winterfolk IX

The 9th Edition of Winterfolk takes place Feb 18-21 in various venues around Toronto and includes performances by blues artists such as Michael Jerome Browne (pictured), Danny Marks, Eve Goldberg, Jimmy Bowskill, Ken Yoshioka, Mose Scarlett, Porkbelly Futures, and Pete Otis.
