The Toronto Blues Society Selects Port Credit Jazz and Blues Festival for Maple Blues Award

The Toronto Blues Society is proud to announce the recipient of the Blues Booster of the Year award, a very special Maple Blues Award honouring outstanding contribution to the Canadian blues music industry. This year the Blues Booster of the Year Award goes to Mississauga based Tim Hortons Southside Shuffle. Held annually in the picturesque Port Credit area of Mississauga, the Tim Hortons Southside Shuffle is a nationally renowned blues festival now heading in to its 16th year. Congratulations to everyone on the THSS Team for their years of hard work and dedication!

TBS Launches Thursday Night Series at Dominion On Queen

Beginning January 2014, the Toronto Blues Society presents its new monthly blues series showcasing the best in blues talent. Hosted by Dominion On Queen, performances will be free to the public and feature a wide spectrum of talented blues artists. Don’t miss the fantastic Chris Antonik (pictured) who launches the series Thursday, January 162014!

Maple Blues Awards Charter Member Discount

A limited number of discount tickets for the annual Maple Blues Awards at Koerner Hall on Monday January 20 are on sale now. TBS Mississippi Trip April 6-13, 2014!

The Toronto Blues Society is planning a blues trip to MississippiApril 6-13, 2014! Insight Travel (TICO insured) is helping produce an irresistible package for those who always wanted to visit the Deep South. The trip will be hosted by Mark “Bird” Stafford(pictured) and will feature total immersion in Mississippi culture. Highlights of the trip will include the Juke Joint Festival, the Civil Rights Museum and a visit to the Blues Foundationheadquarters in Memphis, TN!

$200 deposits are now being accepted for the Mississippi Blues Trip 2014! To process your deposit and guarantee your seat, please contact TBS head office and they will be able to assist you further.

Thank you to everyone who has expressed interest. The itinerary is almost complete and will be made available shortly.

New Blues Festival for Durham Region Launches June 2014

Durham West Blues Fest is making its debut this coming June. The festival is going to be a family event over 3 days with the amalgamation of music inspired art and live blues. The festivities start off with a double bill show on Friday June 13, workshops for guitar and harmonica on June 14, as well as a quadruple bill show in the arena and on June 16, a wrap up blues jam. The whole event is under one roof at the Annandale Country Club. Check out their Facebook  for upcoming details. The event is co-produced by the good folks at Music By the Bay Live.
