Gladstone Hotel First Thursday: Rick Fines

The Toronto Blues Society presents the best in blues talent the first Thursday of each month at The Melody Bar in The Gladstone Hotel. There is no cover charge and each performance begins at 8:30pm with a tasty local food menu being served. The next performance is on Thurs May 5 and features Rick Fines (pictured). TBS 26th Anniversary

Mark your calendars! Monarchs Pub (Delta Chelsea Hotel – 33 Gerrard St W) will host the TBS 26th Anniversary celebration on Thursday May 19. There will be no cover charge, and the featured performers will be Shrimp Daddy and Jerome Godboo (pictured)! Join us for cake, door prizes including CD packs from Electro-Fi Records and Borealis Records, tickets to see Maria Muldaur, and more exciting member benefits! Johnny Max will Emcee, show at 9pm.

TBS Talent Search Submissions

The date for the Toronto Blues Society Talent Search is set for August 18 at Nathan Phillips Square! If you are a local blues musician/band submit to become one of six performing finalists through either Sonicbids (www.sonicbids.com/tbstalentsearch) OR by mailing a one sheet bio, photo, CD and cheque for $15 to the TBS office. Submissions will be accepted from tomorrow until June 17. Prizes include showcase opportunities, industry consultation and more!

ArtsCan Circle Aeroplan Campaign

For the month of May, you can donate your Aeroplan Miles points to help ArtsCan Circle send instruments and artists to northern indigenous communities! Past participants have included blues artists such as Suzie Vinnick (pictured) and ArtsCan Circle founder Mike Stevens. Please consider visiting www.artscancircle.ca to find out more information.

Call for Volunteers

Do you have a vehicle? Do you want to volunteer with the Toronto Blues Society? The TBS is currently looking for a volunteer to distribute newsletters to clubs once per month.
