TORONTO BLUES SOCIETY PRESENTS:

August 2, 2008 – The Toronto Blues Society is proud to announce the Twelfth Annual Maple Blues Awards Gala and Blues Summit IV, which will take place from January 17-19, 2009. The Blues Summit returns for its fourth edition and will take place at the Delta Chelsea Inn (33 Gerrard St. West) in downtown Toronto.

The Blues Summit is a music industry conference bringing together festivals, labels, media, musicians, fans and blues societies. With representatives from across Canada, the United States, and Europe in attendance, there are many lively panel discussions that take place over the course of the three days. Industry experts discuss topics such as blues in the schools, professional development opportunities for artists, and blues in the digital world. Also present will be a keynote speaker reflecting on current blues industry trends and insights.

The Maple Blues Awards is a national awards program which focuses on promoting and recognizing outstanding achievement in blues music. The awards ceremony takes place on the last day of the conference and is a Canadian blues must attend event.
