Sugar Brown in Conversation with Adam Gussow on “Whose Blues?”


 

Musician and professor Adam Gussow (of blues duo Satan and Adam) is the author of “Whose Blues? Facing Up to Race and the Future of the Music,” published by The University of North Carolina Press. Sugar Brown is a Toronto based blues musician (guitarist & harmonica player) aka Ken Kawashima and is a professor at the University of Toronto when not performing.

 

Gussow and Kawashima will virtually get together on Saturday, November 14th at 5pm EST to discuss the blues for the new millennium around the newly published book. Toronto-based journalist and radio producer  Norman Otis Richmond, long-time Rez Bluez producer Elaine Bomberry, and musician Julian Taylor will join the conversation as special guests! Event will be live streamed for free on TBS Facebook page as well as Zoom.
