Brian Wickham Memorial
The memorial for past Toronto Blues Society member Brian Wickham will be held at The Duke of York Pub at Prince Arthur and Bedford Road this Saturday February 26, 4pm-8pm, in the original pub downstairs. Brian was an enthusiastic and articulate supporter of the Toronto and international blues scene.

Gladstone Hotel Melody Bar Blues / Free Admission
The Toronto Blues Society will be presenting the best in local blues talent the first Thursday of each month at The Melody Bar in The Gladstone Hotel. There will be no cover charge and each performance will begin at 8:30pm. Upcoming performances include Paul James solo (March 3, pictured), and Steve Dawson (April 7)! http://www.gladstonehotel.com/

Blues Summit Five Artists Featured on DAWG FM
Ottawa Blues Society’s “DAWGON’ BLUES” radio show on DAWG FM will feature acts from January’s Blues Summit Five on Sun Feb 27 at 8pm. Listen in at http://dawgfm.com/

Canadian Music Week Blues Showcase
Presented by DAWG FM and The Toronto Blues Society, this year’s Canadian Music Festival Blues Showcase will take place at The Silver Dollar Room on Sat March 12. The line-up is Johnny Max, Treasa Levasseur, Jordan John & The Blues Angels (pictured), The 24th Street Wailers, and Bill Durst. JUNO Blues
Congratulations to this year’s JUNO nominees for best blues: The Sojourners, Johnny Max, FATHEAD, Harry Manx, and Jim Byrnes!

There will be two blues showcases during JUNO Week leading up to the JUNO Awards show in Toronto. The showcases will take place on March 25 & March 26 at Monarchs Pub (Delta Chelsea Hotel). The Friday night performance will feature the Johnny Max Band (pictured), The 24th Street Wailers, and more to be announced…; The Saturday night performance will feature FATHEAD, Jim Byrnes, and Urban Preacher.

Harmonica Workshop
Hosted by Maple Blues Award winner Paul Reddick, this year’s harmonica workshop will take place on Sat April 9 at Dominion on Queen (500 Queen St E). The workshop will run from 2pm-6pm and will cost $10 for members / $12 for public. Guest artists include Ken Yoshioka (pictured) with more to be announced in the coming weeks, so stay tuned…

Kitchener Blues Festival
The 11th Annual Kitchener Blues Festival takes place Aug 4-7 and boasts five stages with performers including Edgar Winter, Johnny Winter (pictured), Tab Benoit, Bettye Lavette, Pat Travers Band, John Primer, Pinetop Perkins, John Mayall, Willie “Big Eyes” Smith, Bob Margolin and more.
